Team Sarcoma Brian Morden Foundation
Scott Woomer and Dawn Morden organized an amazing six events in six days for
Team Sarcoma/Brian Morden Foundation in Blair County, Pennsylvania. All
total, they involved 61 people. They had a "bakery Ride", two "Rails to
Trails" rides, a "Road Ride" for experienced riders, and a "President's
Ride". Dawn, who participated in the Danish bike tour, was interviewed on
both TV and Radio about Team Sarcoma 2006 and the BMF's participation in it.
The BMF, a sarcoma advocacy group, was created to honor Brian, a courageous
19 year old, who battled Ewing's Sarcoma for more than two years before
losing his battle to the disease. The BMF has three goals: Fund research for
the express purpose of finding a cure and/or better treatment for Ewing's
Sarcoma, Support patients, family, and staff of pediatric oncology units*,
Provide funding for "Brian Morden Memorial" higher education scholarships.
Unfortunately, given the number of participants and events, there are very
few photographs of this marvelous effort to raise public awareness about
sarcoma and research funds. Nonetheless, here a few that tell a very small
part of the story of the BMF's work on behalf of the sarcoma community.
