Team Sarcoma/Illinois (Kenilworth)
Mary Jo Ghiselli and Kimberly Fitzgerald organized a Team Sarcoma/Illinois
(Kenilworth) to undertake an 18-mile round trip bike ride. Unfortunately,
they started out in rain and didn't start out until sometime after the
posted departure time, so their numbers were smaller than they had
anticipated. After the ride, Mary Jo wrote us the following note, "We
had a group of six attend. It stopped raining when we arrived at the gardens
for our lunch. Patrick and Emma met us there. The ride home through the
forest was nice. We saw deer and many different birds. I also had bike
trouble, my brakes were locked on my front tire the whole ride and my
derailleur was broken and rubbing. I was getting exhausted so, we stopped to
try and fix it. We met some nice Romanian people along the trail who helped
unlock my brakes. When we said goodbye and thank you, I gave them a "Sarcoma
Knows No Borders" bracelet. I wonder if they could read one of the languages
inside the bracelet."
