Team Sarcoma/LMSarcoma Direct
Research Foundation (LMSdr)
Suzanne Kurtz,
founder of LMSarcoma Direct Research Foundation formed a bike ride in Tulsa, Oklahoma as
part of Team Sarcoma 2006. The mission of LMSdr is to assure the development
of the means to cure and control the disease known as Leiomyosarcoma (LMS)
and to improve the quality of life for those with this disease until the
cure is found. Here's a portion of a note that we received from
her after the Team Sarcoma/LMSdr event was over, "There were 19 of us, all ages and we rode around
Riverside which is a bike path along our river... It was small and just for
fun, but our way of being in touch with your big team as you rode the real
ride. The total course is only 5 miles long so it wasn't a huge ride (little
kids along). But it was fun and I can visualize that next year we are going
to make a big deal out of it. This was really something I kinda 'threw
together'... we were just an unorganized rag-tag bunch having fun. but next
year I intend to make it bigger and more professional. Thanks so much for
starting this... I didn't know how much fun it would be." Here's a
photo of Suzanne and some of the Team Sarcoma/LMSdr's riders.
