Team Sarcoma/New York (Croton)

Michelle Jacoby of Croton-on-Hudson, New York organized a Team Sarcoma/New York (Croton) as part of Team Sarcoma 2006. She volunteered to do this at the very last moment (i.e., with less than a month to go before the actual bike ride) and yet managed to draw 54 people. She designed the event to bring together families in a child friendly environment. So she picked a park with some easily accessible trails. After the event, she wrote us the following note. "We have completed our first annual Team Sarcoma/Croton. We had 13 families attend with 25 adults and 29 children. A father and son (who has sarcoma) also joined us. We had a beautiful day in scenic FDR Park." She later wrote "I would like to thank all the families who participated. With over fifty people riding or walking, we raised over $500. Team Sarcoma Croton would like to thank The Black Cow, Bagels on Hudson, Dunkin Donuts and Martin's Cold Storage for their donations. A special thanks to Deacon Al and Helen Mazza for donating water and for being a part of the "committee". It was a great day, and I look forward to seeing you next year.
